Transformer Full Load Current (FLC) calculation depends on apparant power capacity (kVA), system voltage levels, and whether the system configuration is 1-Phase or 3-Phase.

Governing Equations:

3-Phase Full Load Current (Amps): I = (kVA × 1000) / (√3 × V)
1-Phase Full Load Current (Amps): I = (kVA × 1000) / V
  • kVA: Transformer apparent power rating (Kilovolt-Amperes).
  • V: Line-to-Line Voltage (Primary High Side or Secondary Low Side).
  • √3: Constant factor for 3-phase power (~1.732).
